Which Qigong routine should you practice for your medical condition? This question gets asked a lot. Jeff talks about how Qigong can help support your overall health and well-being but reiterates that you should always consult your doctor for medical advice. Qigong can be a 'part' of your health and wellness plan, but it is important to take a balanced approach and create your own formula for wellness that includes, healthy diet, lifestyle, exercise, and advice from your own medical team (doctor, physical therapist and counselor). Qigong can help overall health and well-being by promoting a sense of relaxation and "flow" state. The more relaxed a person is, the better the body will function. Jeff can make suggestions of routines you might find helpful, but he cannot diagnose or provide medical advice. He suggests the main benefit of Qigong is creating a state of 'flow,' relaxing the body and mind, and releasing tension and stress through breathing and intentional mindful movement. Any Qigong routine that helps you to relax and achieve a feeling of "flow state" will support your overall health and well-being. Each person is unique. Listen to your body and focus on the practices that YOU feel the best after doing. The main idea is to focus on breathing and feeling grounded in body, mind and spirit to relax!
